About Vlad Erofeev

A hands-on technical and business leader across commercial, enterprise, public safety, government, and critical infrastructure.

VERO Consulting is my independent professional practice and portfolio. It documents nearly 25 years across commercial and enterprise systems; public safety and government communications; utilities and critical infrastructure; professional software development; field installation and service; systems integration; engineering and design; presales, proposals, and contracts; project/program delivery; operations; and director-level leadership. I am open to full-time, contract, interim, and consulting opportunities where this range is useful.

Why the range matters

The value is not one job title. It is the ability to connect the entire problem.

I began professional software-development work in college and have since worked across field service, systems integration, engineering, technical system design, telecom construction, project and program management, technical operations, presales, estimating, proposal development, specification writing, procurement, contracting, contract and risk review, financial management, and department leadership.

I have carried that responsibility at several levels: doing the technical work myself, managing projects directly, overseeing other project managers, building departments, and holding companywide contracting authority. That combination connects the system and field reality with people, scope, schedules, budgets, agreements, and operating performance.

VERO is the professional platform for my work, case studies, and selected engagements—a direct way for employers, partners, and clients to evaluate the same underlying capability.

Career path

Hands-on field and technical foundationEquipment, installation, troubleshooting, site work, customer requirements, and the practical realities of making systems work.
Software, systems integration, and engineeringApplication development, interfaces, networked systems, technical analysis, design review, documentation, and problem resolution.
Project delivery and telecom operationsDirect project management, Principal Project Manager oversight of other PMs, construction and field resources, vendors, subcontractors, procurement, budgets, testing, acceptance, and maintenance.
Presales, proposals, specifications, design, and contractingRFP ownership, response development, system architecture, BOM and equipment strategy, scopes, estimating inputs, procurement, contract terms, commercial risk, customer communication, and agreement review with outside counsel.
Director-level technical and business leadershipDepartment creation, hiring, employee development, delegated review, operating strategy, P&L, profitability, companywide contract authority, and cross-functional accountability.
Leadership in practice

Build the team. Establish the controls. Own the performance.

Hands-on capability and organizational leadership are complementary. My record includes developing people and operating processes that give departments clear responsibilities, sound decisions, and consistent delivery.

PEOPLE & ORGANIZATION

Build capable departments.

I substantially expanded Engineering and created companywide Presales and Contracting departments. I defined roles, hired, trained, and mentored staff, and developed entry-level employees into capable specialists.

DELEGATION & GOVERNANCE

Make accountability repeatable.

I established intake and assignment processes, templates, estimating and review standards, approval thresholds, quality controls, and escalation paths. Staff handled routine and initial reviews; I retained final authority for complex, high-risk, and nonstandard matters.

FINANCIAL & OPERATING RESPONSIBILITY

Own the economics.

I held full P&L responsibility for regional engineering and telecom construction and brought an engineering function from loss to profitability. The work connected customer development, staffing, workload, pricing, budgets, margins, and delivery.

One record, several ways to contribute. That experience supports a full-time role, contract or interim leadership, and selected consulting work through VERO.

Technical environments

Broad enough to connect the interfaces. Specific enough to design the work.

My strongest work involves communications and infrastructure systems with multiple technologies, sites, vendors, contract interfaces, operational constraints, and acceptance requirements.

Commercial, enterprise & mission-critical communications

Commercial and enterprise systems; public-safety and government LMR, DMR and P25 environments; RF systems; multi-site communications; dispatch; interoperability; logging; testing; migration; and cutover.

Wireless & network infrastructure

Microwave and wireless backhaul, IP/MPLS, Wi-Fi, point-to-multipoint, CBRS, cellular, site connectivity, architecture, complete equipment planning, network interfaces, and operational continuity.

Construction & field deployment

Telecom construction, towers and sites, facility constraints, installation sequencing, vendors, subcontractors, materials, drawings, site access, field issues, and closeout.

Integrated facility systems

DAS/ERRCS, digital surveillance, access control, fire and life-safety coordination, facility security, low-voltage integration, and customer-side technical review.

How I work

Direct, source-grounded, and accountable to the actual outcome.

I remain directly responsible for the core analysis, decisions, coordination, and final output—whether the structure is employment, contract, interim, or consulting.

Direct work and clear delegationI perform substantive technical and business work directly, develop staff to handle routine responsibilities, and retain ownership of complex decisions and escalations.
AI-accelerated throughputControlled AI workflows greatly accelerate analysis and production, allowing one senior operator to cover work often split among several people.
Source disciplineRequirements, facts, assumptions, recommendations, contract-sensitive commitments, and open decisions remain distinguishable.
Cross-functional coordinationInternal teams, clients, vendors, manufacturers, estimators, subcontractors, attorneys, and delivery resources are integrated into one operating view.
Confidentiality & conflict controlCompetitive conflicts are screened and detailed material is handled only after appropriate controls are established.
Full operating range

Architecture, equipment, documents, contracts, and execution in one operating view.

I can develop the solution and the documents around it—not merely edit material produced by others.

  • System architecture, design basis, diagrams, interface matrices, equipment selection, complete BOMs, accessories, software, licenses, spares, services, and support requirements.
  • RFP responses, technical proposals, specifications, statements of work, scopes, assumptions, exclusions, compliance, testing, and acceptance packages.
  • Estimating and pricing inputs, procurement strategy, vendor and subcontractor quotes, contract terms, risk language, customer commitments, and coordination with outside counsel.
  • Project planning, implementation sequencing, migration, cutover, testing, acceptance, documentation, closeout, service transition, and operational improvement.

Ways to work together

Full-time role, contract assignment, interim need, or consulting project.

The structure can vary. The value is the same: direct senior ownership across engineering, business, contracts, and delivery.
